This Notice to the Profession should be read together with the Consolidated Notice to the Profession located on the Superior Court of Justice (SCJ) website effective as of April 19, 2022. The Consolidated Notice to the Profession incorporates the Guidelines to Determine Mode of Proceedings in Civil, Family and Criminal matters that were issued by Chief Justice Morawetz on March 16, 2022 (the “Guidelines”).

With the recent reopening announced by the Provincial Government and the Direction of the Chief Justice concerning the resumption of jury trials, Notice is given to all litigants and the Bar that there will be a three-week civil trial sittings commencing May 16, 2022. 

The Toronto Region's Consolidated Practice Direction Concerning the Estates List in the Toronto Region has been amended to clarify procedures regarding passings of accounts and indicates that confirmation forms are due five business days in advance of the hearing.

This notice is intended to replace all current notices relating to the Northeast Region and to supplement the recentprovince-wide Consolidated Notice to the Profession, Parties, Public and the Media (“the Consolidated Notice”). Itis effective immediately.

This Notice to the Public and Profession applies to proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice, Central South Region, effective April 19, 2022.

The Superior Court of Justice’s Participant Information Form has been updated. It now invites hearing participants to provide, if they wish, a phonetic pronunciation of their name.
