A revised Construction Act Motion Request Form is now in place for certain motions falling under H.3 of the Court’s Notice to Profession-Toronto, entitled “Other Hearings in Construction Lien Actions”. The revised Motion Request Form has been hyperlinked in the text of paragraphs H.3.1.(b), H.3.2(b), H.3.3(b) and H.3.3(c).

The Ministry of the Attorney General advises that a regulation has been filed amending the Rules of Civil Procedure (RCP) with respect to court rules and forms for estates proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice, as described below:

The Consolidated Notice to the Profession and Public Regarding the Small Claims Court now reminds parties that, after they file their hearing materials, they must also email them to the Court at least 3 days before the hearing. There are a few exceptions to this requirement.

The Consolidated Notice to the Profession for Family and Child Protection Matters in the Ottawa Family Court, as updated on September 30, is now on the SCJ website. 

The Toronto Region COVID-19 Notice to the Profession has been amended to provide a link to the new Civil Requisition Schedule a Short Motion or Application Form. The form now contains a section for the judge or associate judge to endorse and sign. For further information, please see the Notice to the Profession.

The Honourable Suzanne Stevenson, Senior Judge of the Superior Court of Justice, Family Court has announced that she will be holding a Toronto Region Virtual Visit for members of the Family Law Bar on October 7.

The Superior Court of Justice released a province-wide notice to the profession regarding family law cases, which introduces a number of changes to enhance access to justice in family law cases. 

The Ontario Courts have announced that they will be closed, except for certain matters that must be heard, on Thursday, September 30, in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
