Pro Bono Students Canada: Volunteer Lawyer Supervisor Call Out

  • August 07, 2019

OVERVIEW

PBSC's University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall Chapters are currently recruiting Lawyer Supervisors to assist with the operation of two Toronto-based pro bono clinics that provide wills, powers of attorney for property and personal care, and reporting letters for low-income individuals.

These clinics will operate from September-April, with the goal of providing low income individuals with estate planning legal services and law students with the opportunity to offer client services in the estate planning field.

THE PROJECTS

GTA Wills Project

The GTA Wills Project was created in 1998 and is operated in partnership with Fogler, Rubinoff LLP. 15-19 law students from the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall are placed on this project each year.

St. Michael's Hospital Wills Project

The St. Michael's Wills Project is operated in partnership with the Health Justice Program at St. Michael’s Hospital. This project began in early 2019 and provides estate planning services to vulnerable hospital patients. 2-6 law students from the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall will be placed on this project this year.
