  • 08 décembre 2016

The Business Law Advisory Council (BLAC) has released its Fall 2016 Report to the Minister of Government and Consumer Services. This first report by the BLAC recommends amendments to several different statutes, including:

  • the Business Corporations Act
  • the Personal Property and Security Act
  • the Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000 (and the General Regulation under the Act)

The BLAC is comprised of members of the OBA and other expert members of the legal community.  The BLAC was established in March, 2016 to review Ontario’s corporate and commercial legislation and to provide advice to Government on priorities to reform that legislation.

The OBA Franchise Section’s past submission to the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services may be viewed here, which proposes amendments for improving the Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000.
