Chief Knowledge Officer
Sherrard Kuzz LLP is one of Canada's leading employment and labour law firms, representing employers. We are seeking a Chief Knowledge Officer to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal and Regulatory Knowledge: Monitor legal and regulatory landscape to identify developments that will impact firm clients; keep team members abreast; and incorporate developments into firm’s knowledge management practices.
- Precedents, Checklists and Toolkits: Develop new and improve existing precedents, checklists and toolkits to enhance firm’s delivery of legal services (quality, efficiency and consistency). Ensure precedents, checklists and toolkits are up-to-date, standardized and accurately catalogued in firm’s precedent system.
- Continuing Professional Development. Manage and direct continuing professional development program for knowledge management users.
- Research, Presentations, Papers and Briefing Notes, etc.: Prepare, review, and/or assist with research memoranda, presentations, papers, and briefing notes, as required.
- Library: Manage library resources.
- Onboarding/Training: Lead and/or participate in the design and delivery of onboarding / orientation training of legal professionals and students.
- Knowledge Management Expertise/Network: Remain current with knowledge management developments and professional community to ensure best practices.
- Other: Any other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law; employment and labour law practice experience, highly preferred.
- Minimum five years of knowledge management experience.
- Excellent:
- Research, writing, communication and project management skills.
- Proficiency with technology and able to learn new technologies quickly.
- Capacity and flexibility to work independently, and in a team environment.
- High professional standards, service-oriented nature, and a passion for excellence.
