IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE 2020 JOB MARKET FOR LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS
As a result of the provincial response to the global pandemic, many law school students will have a school year with no grades (only a pass or fail mark) while others will have had summer job placements truncated or eliminated.
In response, the OBA’s strong and supportive community of lawyers are working to find ways to can help future lawyers develop their skills, build connections in the profession, and provide meaningful opportunities to contribute to the future of the profession. Jobs in other sectors that help students pay for school are also disappearing.
If you were not planning to hire a summer student this year but have a shorter term placement or some project-specific work you are encouraged to post the position or project role here. You can use the OBA’s job board to get the help you need when you need it and help give students the skill and experience that will help them build up references, find mentors, and learn to practice law. All short-term projects (even as short as two-weeks) are welcome.
