OCJ Directive re Scheduling of Family Law Matters Revised

In lights of the Ontario government’s new emergency orders, the OCJ has revised the COVID-19: Scheduling of Family Law Matters at the Ontario Court of Justice. The new Scheduling of Family Law Matters directive eliminates the reference to certain appearances being presumptively in person and waives the requirement to file sworn documents, beyond unsworn affidavits of service. Electronically signed documents are acceptable for filing.

Health Update Dec 27 – College Park Courthouse

This health information is regarding the 444 Yonge Street, College Park Courthouse. On December 26th , MAG learned that a non-OPS person who works in the building tested positive for COVID-19. The person was not symptomatic, underwent testing on December 23rd and received results on December 25th, 2020. View December 27th Memo Regarding College Park Courthouse

Health Information Update Dec 23- L’Orignal Courthouse

On Wednesday December 23rd, 2020, MAG learned that an OPS person who works in the building tested positive for COVID-19. They became symptomatic on December 20th, underwent testing on December 21st, and received positive results on December 23rd. This person was last present at the L’Orignal Courthouse on December 14th, and Crown Attorney’s Office on December 16th. They did not experience symptoms while in the workplace on those dates. Health Information Update – Old City Hall Courthouse

On, Monday, December 21st, 2020, MAG learned that a non-OPS person who visited the courthouse on Thursday, December 10th, 2020, had tested positive for COVID-19. Subsequent to their visit, the person underwent testing and received positive results on Dec 16, 2020. View December 21 Memo

Regulation to Amend Rules of Civil Procedure

On December 8, 2020, a regulation was filed to amend the Rules of Civil Procedure, O. Reg. 711-20. The regulation makes administrative amendments to align the Rules of Civil Procedure with legislative amendments that were introduced to remove the office of a traditional master.
