A construction contract is a mutual or legally binding agreement between two parties based on policies and conditions recorded in document form. The two parties involved are one or more owners (clients or employers), and one or more contractors (builders).

It outlines the scope of works to be executed and completed, obligations, duties, responsibilities, liabilities and legal rights of the parties, specific amount of compensation or how the compensation will be distributed, and details other specific terms, like programme of works of the Section(s) or Parts(s) showing the duration of activities, time for completion, quality, specifications, drawings, penalties for delays, provisions of extension of time, and several other items.
