This fall was a great season for programming for the Women Lawyers Forum, and I had the privilege of attending the Associates Roundtable: Let's Talk Pay on September 24, 2019.
The program speakers included: Bindu Cudjoe, senior vice president, general counsel & corporate secretary of the CWB Financial; Kathryn Meisner, a career & salary negotiation coach at kathrynmeisner.com; and Stacy Zosky, a partner at STITT + ZOSKY. The program was moderated Justine Johnston, who was joined by her program co-chair, Richa Sandill.
The roundtable dealt with topics such as how to approach the subject of salary, what strategies are effective, and how to achieve the salary that you deserve. The panel was comprised of inspiring and knowledgeable women, who shared their own strategies as well as real-life success stories of women who negotiated with their employers for higher compensation. The audience also had the opportunity to practice their newly acquired strategies in a simulated salary negotiation.
The panellists opened the event by discussing the challenges that women face when negotiating for salaries and benefits. But here’s the good news - change is coming. The panel offered insightful tips and strategies for dealing with these challenges, some of which are shared below. Participants left the program feeling encouraged both by the panel discussion and also by the simulated salary negotiation.`
