Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity’s mandate is three-fold.

• First, our focus is on the substantive equality rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgendered and two-spirited people – through advocacy and education.
• SOGIC is a vital forum for the exchange of information on sexual orientation and gender identity for those lawyers who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or two-spirited.
• We provide education through professional development programs to address issues relevant to those members who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered or two-spirited and/or to those members who deal with issues around sexual orientation and gender identity in their practice.
