On October 15, 2024, the OBA Trusts and Estates Law Section proudly honoured deserving and distinguished honoree, Kimberly A. Whaley, presenting her with this year’s Award of Excellence. The Grand Banking Hall at 1 King West was turned into a beautiful purple in celebrating the achievements of Kim and five other outstanding leaders of the bar.

This included past presidents of the OBA who have become judges, as well as lawyers who are celebrating 50+ years in the profession.

On May 16, 2024, the OBA’s Young Lawyer’s Central Division hosted its annual Young Lawyers Gala, bringing together a hundred of next generation of legal leaders and influencers in the practice and business of law in Ontario. It was a heart touching evening with keynote address from The Honourable Mahmud Jamal, and acceptance speech from our Heather McArthur Memorial Young Lawyers Award recipient, Sahil Shoor.

OBA Blocko 2024: Carnival

On February 26, 2024, OBA celebrates the Black History Month in partnering with CABL as we pay tribute to the contribution of Black lawyers in Canada. The night was elevated by the great jerk food, transcendent musical beats, carnival costumes, and everyone’s laughter.
