The OBA Real Property Law Section is pleased to announce Kathleen A. Waters, President & CEO, Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company (LAWPRO®) as its 2016 Award of Excellence in Real Estate winner.
“Kathie has been a relentless and passionate volunteer for decades. She has served on the OBA Real Property Section and various committees for many years and has spoken at far too many professional development programs to mention. Every lawyer practising real estate today is in her debt,” says Real Property Section Chair Timothy Kennedy. “She has worked to promote the value lawyers provide to the public and improve the knowledge of what it is that we do. The Award of Excellence in Real Estate was created to recognize exceptional contributions and/or achievements in real estate law by members of the OBA and contributions in the following areas:
- Teaching of real estate law;
- Development of real estate law including lecturing, scholarly writing and lobbying;
- Enhancement of the practice of real estate law;
- and leadership in the real estate bar, the government, the LSUC and OBA in relation to real estate issues, real estate legislation and the operation of the Land Registration System.
