Today’s Speech from the Throne, read today in the Ontario Legislature, makes specific mention of legal aid as part of the government’s economic plan, saying it is one of the “necessary foundations” of Ontario’s success.
The Ontario Bar Association has long advocated for improvements to legal aid.
Legal aid is expected to figure in the government’s budget which is to be tabled July 14.
