Ontario Schools Moving to Remote Learning

  • April 12, 2021

Ontario is closing elementary and secondary schools and moving to remote learning following this week’s break.

All publicly funded and private schools in the province are moving to teacher-led remote learning when students return on April 19. Private schools operating in-person this week are to transition by April 15. Before and after school programs will be closed, but childcare for non-school aged children will remain open. Free emergency childcare for the school-aged children of eligible health care and frontline workers will be provided.

The province says ongoing assessment by health officials will be used to determine when in-person learning will resume. For more information, see the government’s news release.
