Ontario Bar Association President Pascale Daigneault was among the dignitaries present at the official opening September 4 of the new faculty of law at Thunder Bay’s Lakehead University.
Daigneault was present to offer best wishes on behalf of Ontario’s legal community to the charter class of law students who will graduate in 2016.
Others present included Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle, First Nations leaders, university officials and members of the local legal community.
The school is the first new faculty of law in the province in 44 years, as well as the first ever in northwestern Ontario.
