TORONTO - OBA Institute, the largest legal conference of its kind in Canada, launches today with a keynote speech by Juno Award winning musician David Usher.
Usher, who as a solo artist and front man for iconic rock band Moist, has sold more than 1.4 million albums. He is also an acknowledged creativity expert whose unique approach is to use music and video to show how people can improve their own creativity or that of their business.
The roster of more than 300 speakers at OBA Institute also includes:

Ovide Mercredi, the former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations and key participant in both the Meech Lake Accord and Charlottetown Accord constitutional discussions, who will speak about the need to honour and enforce treaties.

Justice Thomas Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada will speak about the future of family law.
More than 1,800 lawyers will attend OBA Institute, an annual continuing professional development conference for lawyers presented by the Ontario Bar Association. It happens Feb. 6-7 at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle Convention Centre and Feb. 8 at the OBA’s convention centre at 20 Toronto Street.
