Join the Child and Youth Law Section Executive! Being an executive member means:
- collegial collaboration with fellow child and youth law colleagues
- sharing ideas for advocacy, professional development, and events
- influencing public policy relating to children and their rights
- learning from passionate child and youth law practitioners and child rights advocates
- working to bring children and their rights into everyday legal conversations.
Nominations are open for the 2025–2026 Child and Youth law Section Executive until May 6, 2025, at 5 pm.
The Child and Youth Law section is seeking nominations for the inaugural OBA Award of Excellence in Child and Youth Law. This award recognizes any or all of:
- teaching and advancement of Child and Youth Law;
- taking on challenging and precedent-setting cases, or promoting alternative dispute resolution in child and youth matters;
- development of Child and Youth Law, including lecturing, scholarly writing, policy, advocacy, and the development of youth-focused legislation or policies, especially those involving interdisciplinary or holistic approaches;
- enhancement of Child and Youth Law practice; and,
- leadership in the child and youth legal community.
Nominations are open for the inaugural OBA Award in Child and Youth Law until May 23, 2025, at 5 pm.
And save the date: We’ll be getting together on November 20, 2025 – National Child Day and World Children’s Day – to celebrate the award recipient and meet professionals from across the child and youth law community.
