Chief Justice Morawetz has announced potential expansion of the Binding Judicial Dispute Resolution Pilot Project (Binding JDR) and changes to the Practice Advisory, effective August 1, 2023.
The changes include:
- Clarification of the proceedings suitable for Binding JDR;
- Changes to when a Binding JDR hearing can be requested;
- Modifications to the Request and Consent forms to include OCL counsel;
- Updates to requirements for service and filing of supporting documents, including uploading to Caselines;
- Implementation of Confirmation forms; and
- Restrictions on withdrawing from the Binding JDR process and adjournments of the Binding JDR hearing date.
