As of January 26, 2026, trial dates at the Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto can no longer be scheduled by email. There are now three methods to set dates at OCJ-T:
1) at a Virtual Counter via Zoom (no appointment needed).
2) at the physical counter located at 10 Armoury Street (no appointment needed), and
3) via appointment through a Trial Scheduling Meeting.
Coordinate a date and time amongst the parties to attend at the Virtual Counter (for matters where the attendance of an Assigned Crown is necessary).
Once at the Virtual Counter, the parties will be assisted by the Trial Coordinators to set dates. The parties must be prepared with party availability and any police officer leave dates for the Trial Coordinator to set dates.
The Court expects that any matters in a position to set dates will have obtained these dates from the Virtual Counter prior to attending at their next court appearance.
The OBA Criminal Justice Section is canvassing its members for feedback on the new Virtual Counter. If you have any feedback, please contact kflanagan@hhllp.ca.
