EVICTION HELP: THE TENANT-LAWYER CONNECTION PORTAL

Are you a residential tenant, who is:

  1. facing eviction for non-payment of rent, and
  2. who has a hearing scheduled before the Landlord Tenant Board in the next ten days?

OBA members want to help.

To facilitate that, the OBA has created a popup initiative, delivered under the auspices of the Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO), called “Eviction Help: The Tenant-Lawyer Connection Portal”.

The Portal opens a virtual space for residential tenants to connect with participating lawyers, who offer to provide 30-minutes of free legal summary advice. The advice will involve a discussion about your situation and legal options.

Date and Time

The Tenant-Lawyer Connection Portal takes appointments for Mondays from 4pm-6pm, Wednesdays from 9am to 11am and Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm.

NOTE: Neither the OBA nor the ACTO are providing legal advice and neither are responsible for the provision or quality of legal advice. Lawyers you speak with through the Tenant-Lawyer Connection Portal (TLCP) are not employed by or insured by the OBA or the ACTO, and neither the OBA nor the ACTO guarantees that you will be matched. Lawyers on the TLCP will decide whether they are willing to take on your matter or provide advice on a pro bono basis as part of their own practice.
