Island Airport Cost: The Toronto Port Authority has said that the proposed Billy Bishop airport expansion would cost up to $5 billion dollars to complete. Ontario is proposed to take over Toronto’s role in the tripartite agreement that governs the land and has stated that the Federal government supports the expansion.

Spotlight: Christine Davies, Award of Excellence Recipient

It may surprise you to learn that Christine Davies did not start her career in the courtroom.  Christine began her litigation career as a research lawyer, immersed in complex legal issues and nuanced research questions. When an opportunity arose to practice another form of advocacy, the transition was a natural one. Christine, who has always been comfortable on her feet, jumped into her role as a litigator, drawing on her appreciation for the minutiae of the law and constant curiosity that was fostered at the start of her legal practice.

Municipal Codes of Conduct: The Province indicated it will move on long-delayed reforms to Municipal Codes of Conduct before Municipal elections occur in October. It would create a province-wide Code and provide for the removal and disqualification of sitting councilors in serious cases.
