RSVP Now: OBA Speakers Bureau teaming up with The Toronto Public Library as part of Make-a-Will month.

  • April 03, 2017

As part of Make-a-Will month in November, 2017, the OBA Speakers Bureau is partnering with The Toronto Public Library (TPL) to connect more than 30 lawyers with speaking opportunities in the community. This is a chance to give back and to connect directly with people looking for information about Wills and Estate Planning.

Here are a few of the details:

-  OBA Members will deliver a 1-2 hour session on Wills and Estate Planning, with about half of the time reserved for Q&A;

-  Members can schedule times and locations that work for their schedules: there are both afternoon and evening sessions across Toronto branches;

-  Members are to focus on providing legal information (not advice) using this framework: a) What are your legal rights, b) What are your legal responsibilities and c) how a lawyer can help.  In addition, the Trusts and Estates Section Executive is working on preparing a basic slide presentation that would be shared with all OBA member presenters.

This is an opportunity to raise the profile of the profession, for lawyers to build their own profile, and to connect with your community.
