As of January 30th, 2023, lawyers have a new option with respect to service of documents, both with respect to civil proceedings and probate applications. New forms 16B.1 and 74B.1 allow a lawyer to certify that service was effected by the lawyer, or caused to be effected by the lawyer. The certificate is signed by the lawyer, thereby eliminating the need to have an affidavit of the lawyer or a staff member sworn and commissioned.
