Managing Mental Health Issues While Practising Law

  • May 21, 2015

The Sole, Small Firm and General Practice section of the Ontario Bar Association extend a very special thanks to Mr. Stephen Kelly, Partner at Kelly Santini LLP, and the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) for sharing Mr.  Kelly’s presentation on managing mental health issues while practicing law.  The presentation was delivered at the 33rd Annual Civil Litigation Conference hosted by the CCLA in Ottawa in December 2013.

Mr. Kelly is one of several legal professionals in Ontario who are coming forward and speaking openly about their own personal struggles with mental health issues.

There is important work to be done here, and we hope that Mr. Kelly’s inspiring presentation promotes a more open dialogue within the Ontario Bar community to discuss mental health issues and the different ways we can support fellow community members.  We have been given permission to post this presentation to share it with our Members in honour of Mental Health Week which was from May 11 to 17.
