On December 8, 2020, Bill 213, Better for People, Smarter for Business Act, 2020 received Royal Assent. Schedule 2 of Bill 213 amended the Canadian Christian College and School of Graduate Theological Studies Act, 1999 to grant University status to Canada Christian College and School of Theological Studies—now operating as Canada University and School of Graduate Theological Studies—(“CCC”) and allows the board to grant Bachelor degrees in Arts and Sciences.

SOGIC is saddened to see that the Legislative Assembly of Ontario has condoned discrimination by granting University status to CCC.

CCC is an evangelical Christian postsecondary institution in Whitby, Ontario that provides instruction in higher Christian education for those seeking careers in ministry.[1] According to their Statement of Faith, they “believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the absolute authority in all matters of faith and life, divinely inspired, and completely inerrant."[2]
