What is your current position?
I am counsel for the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman. I provide legal advice to staff related to complaints we receive, assist in investigative work, and complete other general in-house duties.
Why did you join the Public Sector Lawyers Executive?
I joined to meet new people in other public sector organizations. Working in the public sector, lawyers are often more isolated and don’t have as many opportunities to meet other lawyers outside their own organization.
What are your favourite parts about being a public sector lawyer?
My favourite part is feeling like I’m contributing to positive change for members of the public. At least in my role, it’s easy to see the direct, positive impact that I’m having on people’s lives.
