On November 9, 2021, FSRA released their final Guidance on the Administration of Pension Benefits Upon Marriage Breakdown outlining:
- approach guidance to court proceedings and provisions in court orders, arbitration awards or domestic contracts that contravene the Pensions Benefits Act;
- interpretation guidance on valuation, payment and division and survivor benefits.
FSRA has also released an updated guide on valuing and dividing pensions on marriage breakdown for members and their spouses.
