A Letter From Your Section Chair

  • September 05, 2019

As the 2019/20 Chair of the OBA's Elder Law Section I'd like to personally invite you to renew your section membership for the upcoming year.

Our section plays an important role in your OBA membership and offers an opportunity for us, as legal professionals, to share our experiences, learn from one another, keep up-to-date on important changes in our area of practice and forge lasting relationships that will contribute to our continued success.

Plus, as an OBA Section member, you can complete up to 6 of the substantive hours you need for your mandatory CPD requirement – for FREE – with your exclusive access to archived professional development programming.

Valuable CPD programs to pencil into your calendars include (i) an Elder Law Capacity for Lawyers passport series (commencing September 18, 2019), (ii) a dialogue with esteemed academic leaders in our field on the important rights and limitations on an attorney under a power of attorney for property (Institute, February 5, 2020), and (iii) an analysis of emerging issues, concerns and case law relative to the appointment of section 3 counsel under the Substitute Decisions Act (May 14, 2020).

This year, I invite you to join in and have your voice heard by participating in the development of continuing education programs, authoring articles for our section’s web page or by contributing to policy advocacy in the interests of our section and for the profession as a whole.

If you haven't already, please be sure to re-enroll in Sections for the upcoming membership year to make sure you don't miss out on any of this year's exciting initiatives.

I look forward to representing the OBA's Elder Law Section this year, and hope to meet you at some of our events.

Sincerely,

Natalia Rosa Angelini

2019/20 Elder Law Section Chair
