DESCRIPTION

Ethical issues arise in every area of a civil litigator's practice. The issues are sometimes murky, and it may sometimes seem that there are as many possible right answers to the question, "What should I do?" as there are wrong ones. Lawyers face this very question multiple times a day and certainly many times over the course of their career. The repercussions of the answer may vary, but the pressure to ensure you answer correctly remains the same.

Our expert faculty of experienced counsel will guide you through these questions and help to provide a framework within which to answer them. Whether dealing with clients, opposing counsel, the public, or the court, you will be well equipped to navigate these common ethical quandaries.

If you are a civil litigator or practicing in-house, you will gain an understanding of how to navigate the ethical issues that lawyers face every day. In our final session, we will give you the opportunity to test your ethical radar by engaging in an audience participation session in which you anonymously select a multiple choice answer to sample ethical scenarios. Our expert panel will provide context and guidance on the audience's responses.
