At the September 28th Law Society of Upper Canada Convocation, LawPro announced base premium pricing for 2018, along with changes to the insurance program, including a change to the civil litigation transaction levy as follows:
Consequently, the transaction levy on civil litigation matters will be
increased from $50 as charged in 2017 to $100 for files opened on or after January 1, 2018.
Members should review the LawPro report, and be prepared to implement in the changes as they are implemented.
