TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

I am an immigration lawyer and a proud mom of two young children. I was born and raised in Ukraine and immigrated to Canada not so long ago. While my journey (both personal and professional) has been a one-of-a-kind of adventure, I am extremely grateful for the many opportunities (and challenges) life has given me. I enjoy enormously what I do and wholeheartedly believe in the wise words of John Lennon who once said, “life is what happens when you’re making other plans.”

I embarked on my legal education journey over a decade ago while I was still living in my hometown of Lviv. There, I stumbled upon what turned into my life-long passion – love of law. After completing my first year of the civil law program at I.Franko National University of Lviv, my family and I had to leave our home. Starting anew in Canada was anything but easy. Eventually, I worked my way into the Bachelor of Arts program at York University, where I specialized in political science. I then obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. While working towards my legal education, I also married my loving husband and best friend, became a proud mom to two wonderful children, met many amazing people whom I am honoured to call my friends and mentors, and became a part of our esteemed Bar.

In my spare time, I enjoy collecting old vinyl records and then dancing to their beats with my family. And despite my deepest dislike of DIY philosophy in relation to immigration matters, one could often find me working on different DIY craft projects with my little ones.
