Information About the Children in Limbo Task Force

The Task Force recently made submission to the Government, Ministry of Children and Youth Services, regarding the Legislative review of the Child and Family Services Act. Those submissions are available to section members to review

“Feathers of Hope: Child Welfare” Youth Forum brings youth voices to First Nations child welfare dialogue

May 22, 2015: Approximately 100 First Nations youth from Ontario added their voices in calling for changes to the province’s child welfare system. The youth gathered in Thunder Bay to attend the “Feathers of Hope: Child Welfare Youth Forum” – which is held on May 19-23 and hosted by the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth.

New Developments

New cyberbullying provisions now in effect

  • March 10, 2015

The Protecting Canadians From Online Crime Act went into effect on March 9, 2015. The new legislation makes it an offence punishable by indictment under the Criminal Code to share intimate images without the consent of the person in the image.
