Progressive Muscle Relaxation
One way to achieve a sense of calm can be through progressive muscle relaxation, which uses the connection with your body to soothe your mind.
Give it a try:
- Pick a body part (e.g., foot, leg, mouth, eyes) and tense it for a few seconds
- Release and relax for 10 seconds
- Notice how that feels different
- Switch to another body part and keep going until you've you're your whole body
