10 Ways to Brighten Your Day

Finding ways to take care of your body and mind are important touchstones for self-care and essential elements to managing stress, staying healthy and building up resiliency.

We know it's not always easy to prioritize self-care, especially right now when we are, once again, re-jigging our routines and experiencing so many different emotions.

To help - following up on our original tips - here are another 10 simple ways to incorporate a little self-care into your day:

  1. Read and reflect on a favourite poem
  2. Do a crossword, sudoku or word-search
  3. Spend some time in the garden (weather permitting!) - or buy yourself some flowers
  4. Peruse photos from a favourite trip
  5. Clear space in your closet or drawers by collecting no-longer-used items for donation
  6. Send a thank-you or thinking-of-you text, email or note to someone who matters to you

  8. Try a new recipe
  9. Take the dog - or a good book - to the park
  10. Grab a coffee, tea or treat at a café you've never been to before
