Lee Workplace Law ("LWL") is a boutique law firm specializing in workplace, employment law, and human rights law, representing both employers and employees. Our employment law practice spans across Canada (with the exception of the Province of Quebec), and we represent many reputable employers and large organization based in Canada and internationally. LWL also handles commercial matters for our employer clients to a smaller extent.

Our team is growing. We are looking for a full-time Junior Associate to join our busy practice. At LWL, you can grow as much as you aspire to. The job responsibilities would include:

  • Advocate fiercely for clients in litigation proceedings, negotiations, and mediations.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of legal matters.
  • Assist senior attorneys with case management and preparation.
  • Legal research.
  • Draft legal documents, such as memorandums, contracts, agreements, pleadings, mediation briefs, demand letters, employment disputes, and other legal documents.
  • Begin to have full carriage and management of own file load.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other members of the legal team to ensure effective client representation and case resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • 1 year Post Call.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have superior organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple case files simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively.
  • High level of commitment to client service and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
