As the preeminent health provider in the province, VCH is seen as a system leader and the ‘go to’ on numerous legal matters.

Vancouver Coastal Health is responsible for the delivery of $4.1 billion in community, hospital and long-term care services to more than one million people in communities in British Columbia including Richmond, Vancouver, the North Shore, Sunshine Coast, Sea to Sky corridor, Powell River, Bella Bella and Bella Coola. VCH also provides specialized care and services for people throughout BC and is the province's hub of health care education and research. It has 27,000 full-time and part-time staff, including 9,805 nurses and 3,200 physicians in their hospitals and community health centres, and 3,000 active volunteers.
