Senior Real Estate Associate/Partner
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Acquisitions, development and purchase and sale of vacant land as well as commercial and industrial properties
- Development work including subdivision plan registration and new home sales
- Structuring of real property ownership with the support of senior corporate lawyers and experienced staff, including individual, corporate, trust, limited partnership, joint venture and co-ownership structures
- Financing for both development and commercial properties
- Supervision of residential real estate transactions including client meetings (virtual and in person)
Desired skills and experience include:
- 5 – 7 years of experience in real estate
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Ability to handle a moderate number of matters and transaction closings
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Interest in business development
- Experience using Unity and RealtiBuilderSales – LawyerDoneDeal is an asset
- Experience using document management system
Additionally, there is a possibility of partnership for which the ideal candidate would have or be capable of the following:
- A book of business or ability to build the practice
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the associates and clerks to help them develop and learn
- Commercial real estate experience including acquisition, development and sale of RE projects of land, commercial or industrial buildings
- Real estate financing experience including mortgages, interim construction financing, permanent financing, and sale-leasebacks
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide array of ancillary documents related to real estate
- Able to work with other departments to support deals that come through their course of business (i.e. Corporate/Commercial department)
- Development experience including plan registration and sales – a definite asset, but not required
- Have strategic vision and solid business acumen
- Have solid interpersonal and client development skills
- Ability to develop creative solutions to appropriately move files forward and sustain competitive advantage
- Can demonstrate a proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
- Shows superior organizational skills and detail orientation
- Uses sound judgment and manages conflicting priorities
- An innovative, value-minded thinker
- Is resourceful and a diplomatic problem solver
- A strong leader for the department who can work collaboratively
