Goulart Workplace Lawyers is Growing! 

We are a workplace law firm based in Oakville, Ontario looking to add a junior Labour & Employment Lawyer to our team. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • 1 to 3 years of experience practicing labour and employment law, inclusive of articling. 
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal laws including the Ontario Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, 2000, Canada Labour Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act. 
  • Excellent drafting skills, including some experience drafting and reviewing pleadings, employment agreements and severance agreements. 
  • Litigation and dispute resolution experience and a keen interest to develop their advocacy skills. 
  • Membership in good standing as a lawyer with the Law Society of Ontario. 
  • A passion for workplace law and a willingness to learn and work as part of a dynamic team. 

The responsibilities for this role will include: 

  • Working with and advising both employer and employee clients, including support to more senior members of the firm. 
  • Providing guidance and practical solutions on various labour and employment law issues. 
  • Drafting documents, including pleadings and employment agreements. 
  • Assistance with research and preparation of opinions. 
  • Attendance at various employment and labour proceedings.

While the firm has brand new offices at the juncture of three major highways, the position will be hybrid for the time being.
