Ontario Bar Association to honour Chris Paliare

Toronto, ON -- A highly-regarded Toronto lawyer will be recognized for his excellence and contributions to the practice of civil litigation next week.

Chris Paliare, O.ONT, LSM, LL.B., LL.M. has been named the winner of the Ontario Bar Association’s 2016 Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation and will receive his award at a special dinner celebration in his honour.

The OBA’s award is given annually to a lawyer in Ontario who dedicates their career to advocacy, advancing civil litigation practice, and leadership in the civil litigation bar. The OBA’s Award of Excellence in Civil Litigation dinner is one of the most well-attended and popular events for lawyers in the civil litigation bar.

Described by many as a “lawyers lawyer”, Chris Paliare has taken on a diverse portfolio of cases over his 40-year career. Thanks to his winning combination of deep preparation, wit and careful logic, Chris is known among the judiciary as someone who clearly loves the courtroom. He is highly regarded among his peers and has been a reliable and enthusiastic mentor to numerous young lawyers.

The Honourable Roy McMurty, OC will present the OBA’s 2016 Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation to Chris Paliare.

The Honourable George R. Strathy, Chief Justice of Ontario will give remarks.

A photo opportunity with the award winner and award presenters will immediately follow the presentation.
