Daughter of deceased police officer to talk about registering for organ donation

TORONTO – Malcolm Higgins, a retired police officer, hockey dad, and lead singer in an AC/DC cover band, was killed in a car accident five years ago.

But his story does not end there.

Because he was an organ donor, there are three people who are alive today and a fourth who had their eyesight restored.

Heather Higgins, his daughter, will tell this powerful and emotional story at a Queen’s Park press conference Wednesday.

What is new is that that a new partnership between the Ontario Bar Association and the (OBA) and Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) will be announced.

The Trillium rep will urge people to register for organ donation, and the lawyers rep will say get a Power of Attorney and speak to your family so that your wishes are followed.
