Toronto Region Video Bail Pilot – Soft Launch at 14 Division

Commencing Wednesday, September 9, 2020, there will be a soft launch of the video bail pilot at 14 division in courtrooms 111 (provincial matters) and 114 (federal matters) at Old City Hall. During the soft launch:

  • justices of the peace, provincial and federal Crowns, duty counsel and accused at 14 division should participate in video bail hearings via JVN webRTC video. Access https://join.jvn.jus.gov.on.ca and enter the below appropriate meeting ID and participant code; and
  • defence counsel, agencies, interpreters and sureties supporting new arrests from 14 division should continue to participate by audio; however, via JVN webRTC audio and not by conference call. Dial 416-581-5257 and enter the below appropriate meeting ID and participant code.

All other Old City Hall bail hearings from detention centres, hospitals and police divisions (excluding 14 division) will use JVN webRTC audio (or video if the matter is taking place by video) to connect to virtual hearings.
