The OBA provided this submission to Tarion on the eight recommendations from the Auditor General's report on Tarion to encourage further fairness, transparency and efficiency of the new home warranty and protection program.

The OBA provided a submission to the Standing Committee on Justice Policy on Bill 207, Moving Ontario Family Law Forward Act, 2020.

The OBA provided a submission to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario on guidance documents relating to the issue of missing members.

The OBA made this submission calling for the expansion of mandatory mediation in Ontario.

The OBA provided a submission to the Office of the Attorney General on the appropriate defined value of “small estate” under the Estates Act and several other areas of estates law reform.

The OBA drafted this letter in response to the Director of Title’s advisement that Ontario would be discontinuing counter services at the Land Registry Offices.

The OBA submission raised a number of issues with the proposed framework including seeking that it be consistent with the requirements for in-person commissioning and that the term ‘client’ not be used in the regulations.

The OBA wrote a letter to the Minister of Long-Term Care and the Minister for Seniors and Accessibility on July 14th, asking for immediate action to address the current crisis faced by people living in long-term care homes and particularly vulnerable older Ontarians. The letter outlines five specific recommendations for measures to be implemented immediately.

The OBA responded to the Attorney General’s letter seeking input on a potential amendment to the Courts of Justice Act regarding the availability of civil juries.

The OBA provided a submission to the Ministry of the Attorney General on the proposed amendments to the Class Proceedings Act under Schedule 4 of Bill 161 which includes several proposals relating to the early resolution of issues, the costs of notice of certification, and mandatory dismissal for delay.
