FSRA is considered an essential workplace and continues to carry out its regulatory duties and is working remotely wherever practicable. Until further notice, the FSRA is deferring the issuance of F2020-21 fee assessments payable under FSRA’s Fee Rule 2019-01 and Deposit Insurance Reserve Fund premiums payable under the Credit Unions and Caisses Populaires Act, 1994.

Emergency Order: Corporate Meeting Flexibility

The Government of Ontario has taken action to support business corporations, not-for-profit corporations, insurers, and share capital social clubs by implementing an Emergency Order to provide flexibility for corporate meetings.

Important update on CIPO operations and services

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) has announced that all deadlines on IP matters under the Patent Act, Trademarks Act and Industrial Design Act falling between April 1, 2020 and ending on April 30, 2020 will be extended to May 1, 2020. CIPO has again confirmed that further extensions may be possible as the pandemic situation evolves.  Further information is available here.
