What Focusing on the Human Element of Law Firms Will Do for the Profession

As the OBA’s Innovator in Residence, Peter will develop, discover, and disseminate ground-breaking ways of approaching the critical human element of law firms and the associated tools necessary to offer lawyers the engagement and autonomy that will maximize their potential and optimize work quality.

In addition to the general improvements in culture and quality, this shift will:

  • Engage new generations of lawyers to maximize potential and drive satisfaction and retention
  • Drive authentic diversity in hiring and the human resource experience (e.g., leveraging technology to remove bias, reverse mentorship and autonomy)
  • Lay the groundwork for the adoption of future innovation by developing more flexible organizations

Given its potential to make the profession inherently more suited to adopt other innovation, this is an ideal first-year focus.  It is a table-setter for future innovation initiatives.
