Board Nominations

2021-2022 OBA Board/Officer Elections

We understand that over the last year lawyers have been focussed on the unprecedented needs of their clients, their workplaces and their families.  At the OBA we have been dedicated to supporting you in navigating these uncharted waters.  We are careful to avoid any organizational requests that might add to your burden.  As part of those efforts, we have also made it easier to apply in a world of social distancing.

Send your nomination via email to vdallas@oba.org not later than April 15, 2021:

The nomination must be:

  • In writing  - Fill out online form
  • signed by at least three Members or accompanied by forwarded emails from at least three members indicating that they have nominated you, or any combination of those two. 
  • Remember where the nomination is for a Regional Director position, the signatures and/or emails must be those of three Members who reside in, practice in, or work in, the relevent region and have their CBA address in that region;
  • include the nominee’s written consent, which consent can be evidenced by an email from the nominee to vdallas@oba.org expressing their consent to the nomination;

Eligibility

  • Any member who:
    •  has served at least one year on Council or two years on a Section Executive or a Board or Standing Committee
    • is nominated for only one board position and,
    • if they are running for regional director, lives, practices or works in the relevant region and has their CBA mailing address in that region.

Candidate and nominators must be a member of the Canadian Bar Association.

We hereby nominate the following person for election to the 2021-2022 OBA Board of Directors:

* It is a long-standing convention of the OBA that the Second Vice Presidency alternates annually between inside Toronto and outside Toronto members. That convention dictates that this year’s candidates be from the regions outside Toronto.

Nominator Signatures

Signed by at least three Members or accompanied by forwarded emails from at least three members indicating that they have nominated you or any combination of those two.

Remember where the nomination is for a Regional Director position, the signatures and/or emails must be those of three Members who reside in, practice in, or work in, the region for which the nominee seeks to run and have their CBA address in that region;
