Board Committee

The OBA’s professionally supported policy and public affairs program provides members with opportunities to influence government decisions and change the law in more than 30 practice areas that matter to members and their clients. The program also facilitates initiatives for lawyers to get involved in politics and public service, connect with their communities and grow their practices.

The Policy and Public Affairs Committee helps set the overall direction and development of the organization’s public affairs activities and works to support member engagement in advocacy, stakeholder and public service initiatives. In addition to overseeing Committee activities for the year, the Committee Chair periodically serves as a representative at member and stakeholder events, including OBA Council policy discussions, Ontario legislative committee appearances, and meetings with Ministers and other key decision makers.
