Biography

Jeffrey Kroeker is a Partner at Civis Law LLP and heads up the Business Law practice of the firm. He advises corporate and high net-worth clients on domestic and international legal, business and structural matters. He is a consumate planner, trouble-shooter and issues manager. Jeffrey also practices in several speciality including ITARs; offshore risk placement and captive insurance entities; regulatory, ethics/integrity and election law; government engagement; as well as estate and succession and relocation planning. He also litigates in corporate, estate and civil disputes. Before private practice, Jeffrey worked as a political advisor in senior capacities at both the federal and provincial levels. Internationally, Jeffrey lived and worked in post-conflict environments, including Iraq, Yemen, South Sudan and Jordan advising leaders on democratic reform/institutions, anti-corruption, and, governance. Now based in Toronto, Canada, in addition to practicing law, Jeffrey raises money for various political and charitable causes, sits on several private corporate boards, and, is Lawyer-of-Record for Toronto Regional Board of Trade's “Trade Accelerator Program” (TAP) coaching SMEs on entering foreign markets and on the nuances of doing business abroad. An experienced communicator and facilitator, Jeffrey has successfully mediated complex legal and political matters; and his international experience saw him lead and coach large teams in diverse cultural and conflict environments navigate through major change management initiatives. He is a member of both the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, the Advocate’s Society, is a vetted member of IR Global, has been CFO to several prominent Canadian politicians, sits on the board of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research; and, is a volunteer President for a non-profit affordable housing corporation. He holds a Honours Bachelors Degree in Political Science as well as Juris Doctor degree and resides in Toronto, Canada.
