Biography

Matthew provides multi-disciplinary legal services to a wide variety of individuals and corporations throughout Canada and abroad and acts as Canadian legal counsel and trade-mark agent for law firms throughout the United States of America and the United Kingdom. Matthew started as a lawyer at a large Toronto-based law firm, where he helped clients with matters ranging from dispute resolution to complex commercial transactions and acted as Associate Liaison to the Partners and Government Liaison. He later worked as a sole practitioner and then as Managing Partner of a small Oakville-based boutique firm. Now at Soble, Rickards & Associates, Matthew continues to help clients, from long-time to new, focusing primarily on corporate/commercial law, entertainment and sports law, intellectual property law, real estate, and estate/tax planning, and serves as the firm's Managing Principal. Matthew is also a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Halton County Law Association and the Sigma Chi Fraternity Bar Association, as well as the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Matthew earned his Bachelor of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University and his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Osgoode Hall Law School.
