Each year over 250 distinguished practitioners, judges, academics and government representatives volunteer their time and expertise at the Institute to bring Ontario lawyers the latest updates in law and practice. In thanks and recognition of their efforts, the association annually makes a substantial contribution to the Hospital for Sick Children to enhance the care of children from across Ontario. Since 1995 OBA has contributed over $130,000, enabling the hospital to purchase:
• A dynamap, which measures blood pressure in even the tiniest of children
• An electrophysiology recording systemfor the Cardiac Program
• A post-anaesthetic room stretcher andan oxygen saturation monitor
• Several patient monitors
• Syringe pumps
• A physiological information system forthe Neonatal Transport Team
• Video and monitoring equipment for the hospital’s Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Program (SCAN)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program equipment
• A telemetry system for the Cardiac Care Unit
• An infant weigh scale
• Electronic clinical thermometers for implementing evidence-basedtemperature monitoring practices
• A remote monitoring system for theCrital Care Unit (CCU) isolation room
• The Leg CPM (Continuous Passive Motion) machine
