On October 20th, Premier McGuinty appointed The Honourable John Gerretsen, MPP for Kingston and The Islands, as the new Attorney General for Ontario.
Minister Gerretsen has served in several key roles within the provincial government including Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Minister of the Environment, Minister of Consumer Services and Minister Responsible for Seniors.
Prior to 1995 when he was first elected to provincial office, Minister Gerretsen was a partner at the firm Gerretsen and Conacher. In 1971, he began practicing law in Kingston and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1982.
